I’m writing a poem
I know that is true
It does have a rhythm
It’s really nothing new

This poem is self-aware
I know that is true
It knows of its wares
And all it can do

I’m writing this poem
I know that is true
I wrote it just now
But the thing is, did you?

This poem wrote itself
I know that is true
Did I write this?
Or did it write itself too?

I think I wrote this poem
I think that is true
I think that this poem knows
I think you do too

I’m writing this poem
It’s probably true
This poem didn’t change rhythms
It’s really nothing new
