Harper is the oldest of the Rebel Squad but the youngest and most stubborn of the Hart family.

At the age of 7, Harper lost his legs in a fire. For a while, he used a wheelchair. 5 years later, when Castor became Flare and joined The Champions, he had enough money to get him high-tech prosthetics.

4 more years later, Zada had already been Stormbird for 2. He was fed up with being helpless and fragile. His siblings were protecting the city, why couldn’t he?

So when a tech company, Guardian Engineering, was looking to test its newest technology, he volunteered. They gave him sleek, black, metal talons that resembled those of a harpy eagle. Little did he know that the company had some terrible secrets. With the help of Castor and Zada, he put a stop to their crimes and became the superhero known as “The Harpy” (he had to use a pun because why not). Even though Castor already didn’t want Zada out and about as Stormbird, Harper being stubborn as ever convinced him to let him become a hero and even start his own team.

Zada Vasquez-Hart is the second oldest of the Hart family and the Rebel Squad.

When Castor became Flare, she started to notice how tired he was whenever he came home. She figured it must be because he protects Kreekside mostly on his own (the police are around too but don’t offer enough help). A friend of hers is a skilled mechanic and she thought that maybe he could do her a favor.

He designed her an awesome jetpack in exchange for finally getting some public recognition of his technology.

With her new tech and awesome name, Stormbird, she set out to become one of Earth’s greatest heroes. Of course, Castor wasn’t very happy that his sister would be putting herself in danger just to help him but he didn’t really know what else to say. It was either quit or let her become a vigilante and since protecting her was why he became a superhero in the first place he chose the latter.

Castor wasn’t really the superhero type. Being the oldest of the Rebel Squad and the oldest of the Hart family, he has a lot of protecting to do.

Being a superhero wasn’t really all his idea. But after the moon exploding and the recent rise in crime, he didn’t really know if he had a choice. The city needed help and his siblings needed protection. One day, a government organization reached out to him saying “they were in need of heroes”. He accepted this offer seeing that the city was already on the verge of a purge.

The organization created an initiative called “The Champions”. They are meant to give people hope and hopefully stop the world from going into complete chaos. He wasn’t the only one they reached out to. The other members come from every continent. They get paid a lot of money because the government isn’t gonna let them start working at some random fast-food restaurant part-time.

The team was going well at first but suddenly it felt less like a good deed and more like a reality tv show. The Champions had to put on an act to keep people going. They had to pretend that they weren’t just ordinary people trying to do a good thing but more like superheroes who can get themselves together and save humanity. Castor thought it was humiliating to act like a charming, loveable guy every time anyone interacted with him but it got him money and security so he just goes with it.

The name Flare was all his idea. It’s meant to symbolize light in the dark. Someone who’s there whenever he’s needed.

He was fine going out and fighting crime. Unfortunately, his siblings had decided to follow that trend. It was already hard enough to protect them before. But now that Zada became Stormbird and Harper became The Harpy and started the Rebel Squad, it made his job a little more difficult.
